As a consolidated tradition, also in the 2016-2017 social year, the SIR has organized its own Social Championship which is open to all school pupils and individuals who compete on an equal footing in the categories from L40 to C115 and where Carabinieri, Corazzieri and Lancieri di Montebello are regularly invited.
The Championship raffles a cup offered by Raimondo D’Inzeo, one of those won by him during his exceptional agonistic career. He wanted to offer it as a challenge cup. In fact only the rider who succeeds in winning it for 3 times will be able to hold it definitely. Otherwise, every year the cup passes to the rider who wins it for that year, which on the base of the cup, on a plaque will be inserted their name and the year they won it.
The winner of each year is identified by the sum of the points obtained in the various stages of the Championship by each participant. The points are assigned so that each participant of each level can effectively aspire to win the Cup, in order to stimulate the young people to work hard and commit themselves to improving.
In 2016-2017, after 5 extremely hardened stages, the final of the Annual Championship was held on 18 June 2017.
The young people, both on horses and on ponies, faced each other in 6 categories giving proof of the great progress made during the year.
At the end of the sixth and final stage, Giorgia Panunzi and Royal Rose were confirmed at the top of the ranking, who had won the first position in the provisional standings already from the 2nd stage, defended date by date thanks to an excellent harmony and so much determination.
Their excellent performances allowed her to immediately give a strong detachment of points to the other competitors and not to go down even of only one place in the standings during the following stages.
Royal Rose “wins” for the second year the cup, previously won with Carola Ginevra Ciarlini.
The final classification sees, behind the aforementioned Giorgia Panunzi and Royal Rose, first with 54 points.
Fabiana Lo Jacono and Onemet, an expert horse of the school, who gained the second place with 41 points.
Third in the ranking Viola Carosi, who got 32.65 points always on the school’s horses, taking part in all the stages, without missing one.
Fourth, but very close, Giulia Pancalli, also with the school horses: 32.3 points.
Fifth Filippo Callarà, first of the pony school, on his Hecklat du Palet, with 29.65 points.
Sixth Matilde Lama, who mounting school ponies, scored 27.3 points.
Seventh Victoria Morozova with Flash Dance, the technical director’s mare: 23.5 points.
Eighth, Federica Blasio, who by riding school horses scored 23.4 points, coming very close to the previous binomial.
Ninth Livia Bruno who has achieved only 23 points in just 2 stages!
Tenth Giada Paolantonio who, also mounting the horses of the school, got the 20.3 points that allowed her to enter in the top 10 of a final classification in which even 61 students entered.
