The school of integration and rehabilitation

We aim to encourage the integration of children and young people with different disabilities thanks to the combination of our horses and the provision of facilities – both current and future – to promote, develop and organize activities related to the social use of the horse with particular regard to Equestrian Rehabilitation, thus enhancing the world and the value of the horse in its widest facets.

THE LUDGE - THERAPEUTIC - REHABILITATIVE PROJECT

We want to significantly develop the broadest proposition of recreational and educational activities as well as therapeutic and rehabilitative activities of this sport. Among the assisted activities with animals, the equestrian one has undoubted peculiarities that require combining sporting aspects with socio-health aspects. Federazione Italiana Sport Equestri

We are an affiliate of FISE for Equestrian Rehabilitation which includes Hippotherapy, Vaulting for the disabled and other sector activities.

The aim is to propose further rehabilitative pathways thanks to the “horse-nature” binomial addressed to a wide audience of subjects with neuromotor, intellectual, psychic, and social difficulties which can be proposed within the “traditional” rehabilitation path of each individual.

Through the relationship established among the disabled and the instructor and the horse, a specific rehabilitation intervention will be studied and planned for each one. Re-educational programs and their application will be differentiated by age and pathology.

In particular: Among the activities that will be progressively offered by La Farnesina we find: HIPPOTHERAPY. This intervention is based on the use of the horse as a therapeutic tool without expecting the active intervention of the person. It requires technicians from the health area specializing in Equestrian Rehabilitation who work with the assistance of the riding instructor and the use of specially trained horses. It is applied to people with moderate to severe neurological and psychic pathology. The intervention is more rehabilitative than addressed to the teaching of riding techniques. It can also be used for people with milder forms of disability before moving to Equestrian Rehabilitation. The regular organization of events and small championships on invitations will highlight the value of equestrian sport also in the social sphere. Gli istruttori: Roberta Galassi: Tecnico FISE in interventi assistiti con il cavallo e Tecnico sport integrati Emanuele Ferrari: Tecnico con attestato ANIRE (Attestato di Specializzazione nel Metodo di Riabilitazione Globale a mezzo del Cavallo) RIEDUCAZIONE EQUESTRE E VOLTEGGIO (Remedial/Educational Riding and Vaulting). It expects for the active intervention of the disabled person in riding the horse. The acquisition of riding techniques is expected in addition to the achievement of one’s objectives in the socio-health area (rehabilitative, neuromotor, psychological, behavioral, educational, social, etc.). The riding instructor works in close collaboration with the technicians of the social health area. It is particularly indicated for people with cognitive behavioral problems. To broaden this offer, contacts are underway for the possible finalization of social events and collaborations with ONLUS associations of the equestrian world. This will be aimed at organizing activities in the future with professional support operators for children and young people with disabilities. It will begin with a studying at bi-weekly basic offer and become a three day per week offer in line with the progressive remake of the various fields that will be available at fixed times and at costs for families of absolute favor. The regular organization of events and small championships on invitations will highlight the value of equestrian sport also in the social sphere.
